Grupo Cortefiel, via its brands Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro, Springfield and Women’secret, has succeeded in helping more than 35 non-governmental organizations in all this time. The projects, which every year are chosen by a jury made up of a representative from each brand and external personalities, have always aimed to benefit society in general and include disadvantaged groups, and have mainly taken place in Spain, but also in other points in the globe such as Bangladesh, India and central Africa.

Organizations such as Médecins sans Frontières, Unicef, UNHCR and the Bobath Foundation are just some of the institutions that have formed part of the Involved project in its first ten years of life. They have all expressed their appreciation to Grupo Cortefiel for the initiative and the support they have received through this project.

In the words of Berta Escudero, Grupo Cortefiel CEO, this initiative “needs to continue for many more years. It is a pleasure for us to be able to make our own small contribution to help the marvellous people who fight on a daily basis to make the world a better place. We have a cast-iron commitment to society and we are going to continue our involvement with it through our Social Action programme”.

To celebrate its X Anniversary, Tendam held a gala evening in Madrid in the Hotel NH Eurobuilding Collection attended by nearly all the 35 charitable organisations it has helped over the last ten years, as well as personalities from Spain’s business and institutional world. Pablo Gómez-Tavira, Director of the regional government’s Social Services and Integration department, brought the evening to a close thanking Grupo Cortefiel for the initiative: “Congratulations to everyone for these ten years of enthusiasm, dedication and, definitively, commitment and solidarity, because people like you mean that day by day we are building a fairer world in which to live”.

Real Madrid’s goalkeeper Kiko Casilla was the ambassador for the event, and in his speech pointed out the importance of well-known public figures setting a good example to young people : “As public figures we have the duty to make society aware of the importance of backing these sorts of initiatives. We have to set an example for these children who admire us and who see us as a mirror in which to view themselves”.

Once again, the group’s brands selected four institutions, all of which received their donations today directly from the hands of Kiko Casilla and Grupo Cortefiel:

• CORTEFIEL has earmarked €36,660 from its proceeds for the ASION Foundation to fund its project “Home care for children and young people with terminal cancer and support for the grieving family.”
• WOMEN´SECRET has given €28,985 to the BLAS MENDEZ PONCE Foundation, which will use the money for its “Activity Programmes for children and young people with cancer and/or chronic diseases”.
• SPRINGFIELD has given the €31.237 raised from its sales at charity bazaars to the RECOVER Foundation to finance its “AIDS vs. LIFE in Cameroon” initiative.
• PEDRO DEL HIERRO has donated €27,533 to the Red Cross to finance their project “Shared living resource for women bearing all the family responsibilities”.

Involucrados is already preparing its eleventh edition with the aim of continuing to bring on board more volunteers and to reach more associations with fresh funds so that they can see their dreams and projects come true. From its beginnings, Involucrados has been fortunate to have the support of other entities such as NH Hoteles, DHL and the Lealtad Foundation, which have shared the journey with Grupo Cortefiel, helping it to make this solidarity project ever greater.
