Ethical compliance and Human Rights

Ethical behaviour and compliance with the current legislation are essential elements in the company’s culture and strategy.

Tendam requires its managers, executives and personnel to commit to behaving ethically and in strict compliance with the law when conducting their activities, supervised by the Ethics Committee.

Internal Code of Conduct

The Internal Code of Conduct is the fundamental set of rules at Tendam.
It establishes the values, principles and behaviour that the company requires from all its professionals, based on the principles of transparency, integrity, ethics and responsibility. It also promulgates TENDAM’s mission, vision and values and develops the standards of conduct required.

External Supplier Code of Conduct

Tendam extends the commitment to its values and principles to its supply chain and other third parties it relates within its business activity. It does so through the External Code of Conduct, which requires suppliers and franchisees to follow the same principles of transparency, integrity, ethics and responsibility that it requires for itself. The mandatory formal acceptance of the External Code of Conduct by all suppliers improves the traceability of the control process.

Ethics Line

The company has a Ethics Line, accessible on both the intranet and the website that allows any employee or third party to report possible irregular, unethical conduct or conduct that goes against the principles established by the Internal and External Codes of Conduct. Furthermore, it has been extended to the Human Right categories promoting access by third parties..

It is managed by an external company, which ensures confidentiality and security of the entire reporting process. The complaints received are forwarded to the responsible managers defined by Tendam based on the matter to which they refer, who are in charge of analysing, investigating and resolving them, and ultimately, reported to the Ethics Committee.

Human Rights

Respect and effective guarantee of Human Rights are fundamental and indispensable elements for the sustainable development of the company and the environment in which it operates.

TENDAM’s commitment to upholding human rights was first formalised in 2002, through its signing up to and direct participation in the United Nations Global Compact.

We are committed to respecting the Human and Labour Rights recognised in national and international legislation, aligning our internal policies and guidelines with the rights recognized in:

  • United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its main instruments:

– The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights; and

– The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights;

  • The Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and Conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO);
  • The Tripartite Declaration of Principles Concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy;
  • The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises;
  • The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; and
  •  The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

All these commitments, which were subscribed by the Board of Directors of Tendam, inspire us to work to promote Human Rights and manage possible violations both within our organisation as well as in our supply chain as part of our Corporate Responsibility strategy.
