- Pedro del Hierro will donate 100% of the profits from the sale of the solidarity cape, designed to support female creation and entrepreneurship, to the association WomenPaintToo, located in Paiporta.
- WomenPaintToo is an association founded by Pilar Mateo, one of the ten most recognized women scientists in Spain and one of the top 100 in the world for creating new technologies to eradicate deadly diseases.
- The initiative was presented at the XII “Top 100 Women Leaders” gala.
- The Top 10 Honorary Women will wear the solidarity cape designed for the occasion during the event.
The “By Women By Pedro del Hierro” which aims to support female entrepreneurship and amplify the voices of innovative women, returns one more year. This year, they unveil a new cape, designed for special occasions, with all proceeds from the sale going to support the cause “WomenPaintToo”, created by the scientist Pilar Mateo (who is the founder of Inesfly and the association, based in Paiporta, which has lost its entire project due to the consequences of the DANA)
Pilar Mateo, who has received more than 70 national and international awards for her work in the development and application of new technologies to eliminate deadly diseases spread due to poverty, has driven the brand for the new edition of its solidarity project. Hence, her inspiring figure in the first edition of the “ByBy” initiative, and the current circumstances surrounding her project, motivated the brand to launch the capsule in February.
For Pilar Mateo, this initiative is a “double joy, both personally and professionally, for the recognition it represents for my scientific work, and for the opportunity to transform my research center, devastated by the DANA, into a space to stimulate science with social purposes and to recognize the talent of women through the promotion of the movement I have launched, WomenPaintToo, because women also paint a lot… and we are proving it day by day.”
The sale of this solidarity cape will be donated to WomenPaintToo to support and encourage the creative abilities of women and their contribution to the transformation of society through science and social actions. With this solidarity initiative, Pedro del Hierro aims to contribute to the recovery of the business fabric in the ground zero area affected by the DANA four months ago.
The cape is part of the “By Women By Pedro del Hierro” initiative, which supports female entrepreneurship and highlights innovative women. The project, which aims to break down barriers that hinder the professional development of women, was presented at the “Top 100 Women Leaders” gala organized by the newspaper El Español.
Marie Castellvi, Pedro del Hierro´s general manager and the other four brands in the premium segment of Tendam (Cortefiel, Hoss Intropia, Slowlove, and OOTO), said, “It is an honor to be part of this XII edition of the Top 100 Women Leaders Gala and to be the spearhead for this second edition of By By. Pedro del Hierro has a strong commitment to social projects, and we hope that the sale of the capes will positively contribute to the development of the WomenPaintToo initiative.”
Seven Top Honorary Women have joined to support the project, and during the gala, they wore the cape, including Benedetta Poletti, Director of Elle and Hearst Spain; Enriqueta Chicano, President of the Court of Auditors; Paca Sauquillo, President of the Movement for Peace, Disarmament and Freedom; Begoña Villacís, Director of the Spanish Association of Data Centers; María Eugenia Girón, Vice President of the Board of Directors of Oceana; and Pilar Mateo.
The cape is made in Spain and crafted from noble materials of the highest quality, made of taffeta fabric with an A-line cut that gives it great elegance and fullness. Its craftsmanship and design ensures durability and exclusivity. It features a multi-position tie that allows for different looks, a gathered round neckline, and voluminous raglan puff sleeves.
This solidarity project will be exclusively available online at pedrodelhierro.com, with the cape sold for €185, from February 16th to April 29th, 2025.
